Master & Limited Edition Prints
The ultimate photographic expression is the print. I Mastered B & W printing from Ted Orland, Master Printer, photography critic and Ansel Adam’s assistant at the Yosemite Workshop for 10 years. And in the digital era from R. Mac Holbert of Nash Editions and Jeff Schewe.
I have been using Epson products since they introduced their first impact printer in the 1980’s. I am in awe at the quality of current inkjet technology, fine indeed!
Today, I am delighted to use an Epson Stylus Pro 9900 large format printer and Epson ULTRAChrome K3 Ink in my studio for printing.
I regularly monitor and calibrate the color workflow of my studio, including Lightroom, Photoshop, Apple computers and Epson printer. I have developed my own ICC color profiles for Hahnemühle Bamboo, Sugar Cane and Rice Paper and tweak them as my knowledge and experience permit.
I offer a series of Master Prints and Limited Edition Prints. I do not offer matting or framing, that’s up to you. Prints are shipped in a sturdy tube.

I was an early adopter of the environmental ethic and it has greatly influenced my life, art, and professional decisions. I am dedicated to using environmentally sound practices and products in my life, my art and business. I look for evidence of sound environmental and business practices in those that I choose to do business with. I choose not to do business with those that do not meet these criteria. I encourage others to do the same.
On learning about Hahnemühle and their long tradition of Fine Art Paper products, I began to experiment with their fine product line early in my inkjet printing career. When their excellent Bamboo Fiber Paper first came out, I ordered it immediately. It’s spiritual and sensual qualities are not only delightful but the sustainability of bamboo as a paper source has captured my imagination. I have lived in California’s Coast Redwoods for over 40 years and have knowledge and experience with current forest practice issues.
I have spent many years in the humid tropics, am very familiar with the wide variety of bamboo species and am endlessly fascinated by the quality of bamboo swaying in the wind. Through additional research I came to learn that Hahnemühle has a companywide commitment to operate with environmentally sound business practices. For these reasons, and the outstanding archival qualities, I choose to use Hahnemühle Bamboo, Sugar Cane and Rice papers exclusively in my Master Print Collection and Limited Edition Print Series.
